The baku are nightmarish creatures from the realm of chaos. They have the body of a titanic cat, huge fangs and a muscular elephant's trunk, and their powerful whip-like tail is capable of crushing the bones of any unfortunate soul struck by it.
Born from the brown wind of Ghur, the baku are savage beings, as primal and irrational as they are devoid of malice. These creatures are terrifyingly silent predators for a creature of its size and they mainly feed on abstract concepts like fear, nightmares, hope, etc. Although this does not seem very threatening for humans or haflings, it is something terrifying for any demon because they are beings born of ideas and thoughts, dreams, nightmares and hopes and being devoured by a baku is one of the few ways in which a demon can truly die.
Some of the most daring and arrogant oni sorcerers dare to dominate these creatures through magic to put them at their service, which is a great risk because if their control ever wavered and the baku broke free, it would devour the fool that held it captive, ending forever its existence.
