Warhammer Estalia concept art: Herensuge

During the collapse of the polar gates the energies of chaos spilled over the world causing all sorts of unpredictable effects. One of these was the forced fusion by the arcane energies of various creatures with each other, giving rise to beings such as beastmen, manticores, griffins, and in the areas known today as Estalia the Herensuge.
The Herensuge is a huge, quadrupedal, feathered-winged reptile with seven heads that combines various characteristics of dragons, hidras and birds. These (thankfully rare) creatures dwell in dark caves in the Irrana mountains where they spend long periods slumbering just like dragons. But when these fearsome intelligent beast (if only slightly more so than an ogre.) awaken they sow chaos and terror by devouring entire herds of sheep and burning villages and forests with their breath of fire.
Scholars cannot explain how such a heavy creature is able to fly and maintain its balance with wings that, despite being large, do not justify the ability to fly through the skies and so many long and thin necks that should destabilize it in the air. The truth is that in order to fly through the skies, the herensuge makes use of the winds of magic, especially the wind of Aqshy with which the herensuges have a strong innate connection and conjure currents of hot air that allow them with the support of their wings, to hover withot a problema. This causes a layer of stifling hot air to surround the creature in combat, exhausting and slowing enemies in melee. They also use this mastery over the lore of fire to cast their fearsomely famous sevenfold fire breath as the Herensuge does not possess any natural organ that allows it to do this.
Many of the towns and villages that know that one of these creatures lives in their vicinity enter into agreements with the beast in which the Herensuge can devour as many cattle as it wishes without opposition and in return the herensuge will protect the settlement and collaborate with its military forces, althought this is not out of compassion or because he can't get what he wants by force but because herensuges delight in seeing humans humiliate themselves before them. In this way more than one mercenary army of some noble or lord who wanted to expand his domains preying on small towns and villages with little or no protection has been annihilated in a flaming hell of claws and fangs.
