Those humans who demonstrate great skill with weapons and leadership rise from the masses of ashigaru and ningen bushi as Ningen Taishou. These humans are veteran fighters of many battles, and their experience gives them great knowledge of everything related to soldiery, as they have spent most of their lives fighting in the defense of the empire of the divine sun.
This rank indicates that the individual is brave, a trusted leader and in many ways a hero who leads the troops thanks to his courage. Ningen Taishou are great hand-to-hand combatants and have the authority to command many regiments of troops, so they are usually intelligent strategists, although many yokai are reluctant to accept the orders of a mere human, no matter how much he has proven his worth.
